Aus

$\displaystyle \int e^{\mathrm{i}kx}\, dx = \frac{1}{\mathrm{i}k} e^{{\mathrm{i}kx}}+c\,,
\quad 0\neq k\in \mathbb{Z} \,,
$

folgt für ein komplexwertiges trigonometrisches Polynom

$\displaystyle p(x) = \sum_{\left\vert k\right\vert \leq n}c_k e^{{\mathrm{i}kx}}\,,
$

dass

$\displaystyle \int p(x) \, dx = c+c_0 x+\sum_{0\neq\left\vert k\right\vert \leq n}\frac{c_k}{\mathrm{i}k} e^{{\mathrm{i}kx}}
$

sowie

$\displaystyle \int_\pi^\pi p = 2 \pi c_0
$

Mit Hilfe der Formel von Euler-Moivre können auf diese Weise auch beliebige Polynome in $ \sin (kx)$ und $ \cos (kx)$ integriert werden.
