Angewandt auf eine Matrix verändert eine Givens-Transformation zwei Zeilen:

Wählt man dabei als definierenden Vektor $ v = \left( p_1, q_1 \right)^\mathrm{t}$, so wird der Eintrag $ q(1)$ annulliert.
