Seien $(\tilde{V},\tilde{h}),\hspace{0.2cm} (V,h)$ Hermitesche Räume.

Eine bijektive lineare Abbildung $\phi : \tilde{V} \rightarrow V$ heißt Isometrie, falls:

$\displaystyle \tilde{h}(x,y) = h(\phi (x), \phi (y)) \hspace{0.5cm}\forall x,y \in \tilde{V}.$
Man schreibt dann: $\phi : (\tilde{V},\tilde{h}) \rightarrow (V,h)$ und nennt $(\tilde{V},\tilde{h})$ und isometrisch.
Isometrien eines Hermiteschen Raumes bilden eine Gruppe, die mit bezeichnet wird. Es gilt $Aut(V,h) \le GL(V)$ .
Ist eine symmetrische Bilinearform, so wird die orthogonale Gruppe von genannt und mit bezeichnet.
Ist $\phi : (\tilde{V},\tilde{h}) \rightarrow (V,h)$ eine Isometrie Hermitescher Räume, so ist

$\displaystyle Aut(\tilde{V},\tilde{h}) \rightarrow Aut(V,h), \hspace{0.5cm} \psi \mapsto \phi \circ \psi \circ \phi^{-1}$
ein Isomorphismus der Isometriegruppen.
