Sei $ \mathbb{K}$ ein Körper. Eine Lie-Algebra über $ \mathbb{K}$ ist ein $ \mathbb{K}$ -Vektorraum $ V$ zusammen mit einer Multiplikation

$\displaystyle V\times\ V\rightarrow V,~~(x,y)\mapsto \left[x,y\right]~~~$( $ \left[\cdot,\cdot\right]$ heißt Lie-Klammer)

mit folgenden Eigenschaften
  1. $ \left[x,y\right]$ ist $ \mathbb{K}$ -bilinear $ \forall x,y\in V$
  2. $ \left[x,x\right]=0~~\forall x\in V$
  3. Es gilt die Jacobi-Identität $ \left[\left[x,y\right],z\right]+\left[\left[y,z\right],x\right]+\left[\left[z,x\right],y\right]=0~~\forall x,y,z\in V$
Seien $ \cal L$ und $ \cal H$ Lie-Algebren über $ \mathbb{K}$ . Eine $ \mathbb{K}$ -lineare Abbildung $ \alpha:{\cal L}\rightarrow{\cal H}$ heißt Homomorphismus, falls gilt

$\displaystyle \alpha\left(\left[x,y\right]\right)=\left[\alpha\left(x\right),\alpha\left(y\right)\right]~~\forall x,y\in{\cal L}.$

Ist $ \alpha$ bijektiv, dann heißt $ \alpha$ Isomorphismus.
